Recall alerts for Y61 Patrols
Exploding airbags are apparently normal and Nissan are recalling all Y61 Patrols. Also Pulsars, X Trails, Navaras and Maximas built between April 2001 and June 2003. Maybe you've received a letter already, otherwise take a look at this.

No ‘safety feature' which can cause you injury.

Na no airbags, self tightening seatbelts, rear parking assist, self parking, car beside alert, car in front alert, cruise control, auto cruise control, climate control, dual climate control, electric seats adjust or warming, electric mirrors, central locking, on steering wheel audio, auto wipers, auto lights, auto transmission, auto hubs, electric transfer case selection, all wheel drive, launch control? traction control, ABS, ECS.... the list goes on.
Really its not much of a car at all.
But its not for sale OK.
Thinking about it I actually have to "drive" it.

They would have made that decision based on airbags being a direct safety issue (big legal liability), zd30 problems is not.
