What to get?
I'm after new shoes for the car I'm getting next week it's a 2005 gu iv with 17 inch factory alloys.
First question as I'll sell the current rims in favour for steel rims, can I squeeze some 15 inch rims or just 16's?
I want a mud tyre thinking 33inch in size what are your thoughts from this list and anyone got any good prices in Brisbane?
Summit mud hog
Federal couragia.
Or just spend the big bucks once and get bfg km2's?

If it was me, i would go for the KM2's in the 255/85R16 size, little taller (33.3') than standard 33's and a bit lighter (good for economy and drivetrain). Also the narrow/tall tyre I think is better offroad, longer contact patch and higher contact pressure with the ground.
PS
Google the sidewall strength of the Federals
GQ highmount, lockers, barwork, 3-Link front, long arms, V8, cage, duct tape, cable ties and 35's

Go KM2's, I kept the factory 17" Alloys and paid $360 a corner fitted and balanced (in Vic).
Very happy and it now means my speedo is spot on.

Are the km2 really $100 a tyre better?

Nissannewby has done almost 100k on his and my son in law did 90k and got another set. That was enough to convince me, and remember my are 17 inch which are naturally dearer than 16.
Cheers

Don't think 315/75/16 would fit with a 2 inch lift though. I remember Steve saying the 285/75/16 wear a bit narrow and to go for 305? Is that correct. I suppose with the new car being a 4.2td it will actually last 100000km unlike the poxy zd30
