That was first look GU Joe. I don't think any one on here has paid 82K for a STL so the figures are wrong from the beginning.

I drive a Y62 and bear the cost with a smile just the same as when I settle into my 1st class Qantas seat (I wish!) compared to cattle class.
Shop around for Y62 prices. I paid about half the RRP for mine by buying interstate and drive under permit to NSW to have it registered there. Still needed a blue slip inspection but it was an easy process that saved me a bundle.

I firmly believe that the Y62 is no more expensive than any other 2.7 ton off road vehicle to own and run!! Very good fuel figures, service charges are similar to others. No worries about oil consumption, "dusted" motors at 150-200,000K's. Depreciation on Patrols is not as bad as many other 4WD's and they are an absolute pleasure to drive on long runs. Don't buy one if you live and drive in the city, they are for country travel. Buy a Suzuki for city 4WD pleasures. cheers! (and don't believe so called motor magazine critics. they have absolutely no idea of what a "comparison is".)
