LPG with Snorkel
Hi all, was thinking of putting on a snorkel to my 4.5L petrol with LPG. but the more I look into this the more I think snorkels and LPG don't mix. Has anyone out there had a snorkel fitted with LPG and what was the results? Opposite Lock couldn't sell me one fast enough but ARB said they were reluctant to sell me one with the LPG but would do so if I insisted, after talking to my mechanic he said it would be fine after a tune up but the local gas specialist advised against it because of all the trouble they have seen with them.

I have a 4.5 and it on gas. And i have a snorkel. If you have injected gas, youll be fine straight up. A little tune will always help.
If you have a vapor gas system, youll also still be fine, but you need to put in a cross over pipe, or something to release the pressure (ram air) when you lift off (thats what causes the issues).
Even tho i have injected gas i still put in a cross over pipe, small pipe going from the bend just after the airfilter, connecting to the intake pipe just after the MAF.
Another way i have seen is, cutting a hole near the throttle body and covering it with a stubbie cooler, or the likes. Idea being, the air can get out of the intake pipe but cannot get in.
Talk to your mechanic, hopefully he should know best.

No problem at all running a snorkel with lpg, you just need to run a balance pipe from the "dry" side of the converter to either the dirty side of the airbox or straight out the front of the grill.
