installing aerial

I have a handheld UHF. I use it in a MP3 holder on the dash. I'm trying to get the aerial cable up the back or the dash and up between the windscreen and the dash. I shuved my hand up the underneith, but can't force it up and out the top. I can't work out how to do it. Please help.

take it to one side or other of the dash, and bring it up between the dash and the door surround trim?
