hey guys i have a contact in the plastic industry and he has asked if anyone would be interested in getting wider flares made, they would be like the artic truck style flares from iceland which are not available here, he says around $1500 a set but you would not have to cut the gaurds to fit them, he will also do bonnet protectors windsheilds for the doors etc, anything basically in plastic that can be pressed or moulded. If you are interested let me know as he said he needs 10 of them the same to go ahead.
TD i contacted arctic trucks and they said cannot buy in OZ only iceland, norway and denmark and only fitted as they need to protect their product from dodgy installers!
Unfortunately plastic flares get broken when climbing hills, ruts, off camber sections. Most guys running the factory flares on their GQ's and I've seen some GU's also, remove them and install the flexible type.
Need to have some give as well, Jeep have 6" off the shelf flares , but we all know theres only one Jeep. lol
Now with all the tyre limits and the fact that here in Aust we tend to go taller not wider. My 305s are still inside OE flares.
You'd need 14" wide to justify the flares, would you need an engineers cert for them ?
One product Ive always liked is having driving lights on the front of your bonnet rally car style, think that's legal ?
