In a few weeks going to take a couple of the boys to the range to introduce them properly to shooting...
One of the biggest things I have when taking novices out is watching where they put there sticky trigger finger !!!!
I dont care if its loaded or not its all about habit and you treat every gun as loaded..
I remember the first time I got into a ute with an old cocky... he nearly ripped me a new one for getting in with the butt facing down, I only had to be told once and never did this silly thing again.

Yes, finger outside the trigger guard until ready to take the shot. Unloading is also a concern......mag off first then cock the weapon!
On our to farms there is plenty of rabbits I've shot and hekarewe have shot at least 30 this year. Mmm rabbit curry or rabbit caramelised onion soup.
Safety first I also if hunting with a group don't travel or walk a property with a round in the chamber and never trust a safety, best safety is nothing in the chamber. Also no drinking and shooting.
Whoever appeals to the law against his fellow man is either a fool or a coward.
Whoever cannot take care of themselves without that law is both.
For a wounded man shall say to his assailant,
'If I live, I will kill you. If I die, You are forgiven.'
Such is the rule of honour.
also you can go to the DSE and buy a ticket to hunt vermin on crown land, this also is an acceptable reason. It is also very cheap.
In any moment of decision, the best thing you can do is the right thing, the next best thing is the wrong thing, and the worst thing you can do is nothing.
I love hunting! It been too long since I have seen a Sambar in the wild.
Unfortunately I have lost most of my hunting pics care of a dead hard drive.

Could I please invite myself along to this? Just working out my license and stuff and any tips/practice with more experienced shooters would be invaluable.
