    Smile 3lt conversion decision

    hey guys i have a now stuffed 2004 3lt manual and im going to convert it but cant seem to make my mind up on witch engine
    choices are td4.2 , ls1 or a L98
    just after some info from anyone who has done any of these conversions and also what other members would recomend

    also main purpose for my car is to and from work and bush and beach not much towing
    pretty basic at the moment tho looking to run 5" lift with 35's so you can sort of get what kind of driving il be doing

    When the time comes I'll be going Nissan 4.2 TD just to keep it diesel
    LS1 would be nice but had a V8 in last 4x4 so never again
    04 ST 3lt auto, not enough Mods to keep me happy, but getting there

    It will really boil down to 2 things... what you want it to do/expect to get out of it and how much you want to pay.

    IMO, as you have the vehicle already, then I would be going after the TD42... reasons being that they are a good, reliable engine, with great torque and are relatively inexpensive to source and fit...

    You can see what I have but I didn't do that myself as the cost of the conversion alone was around $35k. If money was no object and it was a play vehicle, then I'd put a Dodge Viper V10 in it.... ridiculous but a lot of fun.

    out of the 3 of them the TD42 conversion would be the cheapest and you can mod them to pull some good hp and torque take a look at Ben-e-boy's build and also old mav

    thanks for the replys fella's the more i think about it the more the td4.2 is the reasonable choise
    I no i cant go older in engine models for engineering and mines january 2004 so any preferances in witch model motor?
