The only good thing about an 80 series is..... the front end?? Wrong!!, the Engine?? Wrong!! the Full Time 4WD system?? Wrong!! Its the NissanPatrol.com.au stubby holder fitted over the transfer lever.

Legendary
Optima's are good for a car that gets used but i have found that when the car sits and only gets driven every now and then the don't hold the charge like a proper deep cycle. But sounds like you got a bargain any way!!

They are going to be awesome behind the winch!!! After the last trip I definitely need some more grunt.
I might run a hot wire and isolation switch between the two batteries under extreme winching to get I little more umph!!

Nice.........after looking at the photos of your latest trip I would say you need to go to 24 volts for winching LOL
Hope you had a good Christmas mate.
Cheers Rodney

The 747
Have you just got the standard cables running to the winch Daz? Sounds like you could benefit from some 35mm welding flex or something

G'day Rod,
Yeah mate 24v would be awesome! One of the other guys had 24v and it was insane! Simply uncomparable! Was even Silly to see how my Himount with a Bearing end and 6hp motor was a joke compared to his winch running 24v through it.
The great thing about these is that they are sealed . These would be suitable to mount in the rear passenger side footwell for a 24v setup!! 24v alternator mounted above the current one and Bobs ya auntie!
Hmmmmmm???
Merry Christmas mate.

Hey Winnie,
Yeah I am running welding flex to the winch via a Titan Solenoid now so the only way to get some more out of it is more battery then 24v as above.
After a big night doing looooong double line skull drags the batteries were cooked. Part of my problem with the triple line pull featured a few pages ago was that the batteries had given up the ghost by then. All Hail the mighty TD42 running off 9v.
