At this stage Silver they are for storing the winch hook when not in use.... I will wait to actually eye ball the bar today to see if they are rated and mounted for a snatch block double line pull. Cant imagine they would be suitable for a snatch recovery? but it is a Cheezy bar so its not out of the question.... That plate they are mounted to goes all the way to the chassis rail and is the main mount.

The only good thing about an 80 series is..... the front end?? Wrong!!, the Engine?? Wrong!! the Full Time 4WD system?? Wrong!! Its the NissanPatrol.com.au stubby holder fitted over the transfer lever.
WARNING: Towballs used for recoveries can, and do kill people and damage property.

Huge undertaking, Reckon it will be better than new when you finish it.
Did the same thing with a Lotus Cortina once. massive buzz when it finally gets the last polish, almost scared to take it out.
Bet you won't be taking it back through those mud pits.
The last post was June 2010, guess you would have finished it by now.

Well i have rubbed back the F.A.T. Bar and have given it some fresh paint over the weekend looks a treat. THe parts for the high mount took a little longer than i thought to arrive but have everything now. Would still like to tap and bolt the free spool so might do that while its off the car.

Glad i am taking the GUIV to Loveday or i'd be in a little trouble.
