Just watched some YT toolangi 4x4 videos and most are like downhill ice skating. Youre at the mercy of super slippery ruts. lol

If its dry the area is easy with a couple of nice climbs and deep holes.

If its wet then unfortunately everyone must have moderately aggressive tyres if we want to take on harder tracks.

There is a track I haven't done before on marginal road opposite the cut through which goes to wee track I want to check out.

Word of mouth from a reliable source is that it heads down a very steep hill with many ledges and is apparently very gnarly. I was advised not even to attempt in wet.

I think it leads down to the steps which was a crazy climb back many years ago until they shut it. If we get a chance we can have a sneaky look as I've been wanting to check it out myself for years.

    HODGE:
Last time we went out there I had my extreme A/T ( had a reasonable amount of tread ) and didn't seem to have any issues, but like Andy said it would be a good idea to have some sort of tread.

    ANDY:
Sound like a nice track, would that camp ground we stayed at last time be the best to stay at or is there some better ones.

Andy have you ever done that track at the end of Aeroplane? It kind of goes straight up (and joins up with Aeroplane) where Kalatha North goes around to the left.
That is a hard track. Bloody steep and loose with FA traction. I am yet to get up it. Last time I tried just ended up spitting rocks back down the hill from about halfway up and had to reverse.....that sucked.....came down it once by accident, forking huge steps/ledge about halfway up/down........scared the bejeezus out of me as it was about my second time out.
That is a track that would be a serious challenge for anyone I imagine.

That's at murrindindi side mate which is a great spot to camp but is a whisker limited for quick access. There's some other good spots further east which are right in the heart of it so lets see how numbers are. If we have small to medium numbers there are awesome camp spots just in from two hills road which are right in the heart of it.
