Damage report broken right auto locking hub .
replaced oil in rear diff all looks good , thinking the locker had not released properly
cannot get it to make the bang sound again it only happened when going around left hand corner. It did it once for the mechanic yesterday but hasn't done it
So I will keep a eye on it and get nissan to check it out next service .
Pretty happy with that out come

Not to bad really ...... Pickers
You are lucky mate... auto hubs suck.. did you lock your hubs.
I thought to myself on that last winch that you were not in 4wd ??? I was so tired by that stage.
Glad the damage report is not as much as first thought.

That was me! Just joined up to say g'day and glad I was in a position to help.
If I hadn't seen you get stuck in the washout chances are I would have ended up in it, so I figure we're even.

Yeah i remember asking Rosco whether your other front wheel was spinning as it didn't look like it was, but i couldn't see from where i was standing.
I manually lock the hubs when doing harder tracks although i didnt on the weekend. i will next time i go back as i've heard of instances of them unlocking when reversing back down rock steps and what not.

G,day, lexx_au, since you've joined the forum, will you be getting a Patrol now?
My advice is: not to follow my advice.

When the 80 series gives up the ghost I'll think about it.
Could be a long time though...

Welcome to the forum mate. I was the guy with the GU up front.
Thanks for snatching andy out it was not a job I was looking forward to.
Though you do really need to get a front recovery point sorted Andy. I've got the factory hook from mine you can have if it fits
