Would it be worth it for him 2 spend 1600 odd bucks and rebuild the new motor himself before putting it in? I suppose that really doesn't guarantee it will last any longer though.

im going to do that with the old motor. rebuild and keep it as a spare or even sell it

Probably an 1hr or so from here, If you get stuck and need an extra hand fitting 1 weekend just sing out.

thanks mate very generous. i should be right though, my uncle nad dad will be doing most of the work, the uncle used to be a mechanic too so im pretty sweet! =D
