Soak in CRC and walk away mate if you haven't already. Soaking is important, I see people so many times spray it and instantly try and have a go at the bolt. Let CRC to it's magic for a bit and then let it rip... Mine were tight as well as I done just that spray from above and below and concentrated on something else for 20 minutes, and when I came back they undone right off.

Just a suggestion but I recommend getting a 12 Volt Impact Wrench off Ebay.
They cost about $50 and I have used mine for everything from wheel nuts to rebuilding diffs.
Only thing is the wheel nut sockets they come with are rubbish but a few extra bucks at a Tool shop or Coventry's for a 21mm Impact Socket and it's game on.
Link is for illustration only... I don't know this seller so cannot recommend them one way or the other

Dolphins are so smart that within a few weeks of captivity, they can train people to stand on the very edge of the pool and throw them fish.

X2 with Evil I have used the same 12v impact tool ever since they came on the market, I brought mine from Kangaroo Creek imports for $98.
The best part is they are fully re-buildable if something fails as in the switch in my case, just upgrade sockets as suggested
04 ST 3lt auto, not enough Mods to keep me happy, but getting there

The only good thing about an 80 series is..... the front end?? Wrong!!, the Engine?? Wrong!! the Full Time 4WD system?? Wrong!! Its the NissanPatrol.com.au stubby holder fitted over the transfer lever.

I'm new so excuse the daft question - are you saying the stock recovery points front and rear are not rated for recovery if I get bogged? I've got a 2012 ST Patrol 3.0Ltr and looking at 'essential' upgrades -is this one? Don't want to spend the $$ if I don't have to as am eyeing other mods.

Legendary
The factory ones arn't very strong mate. I have just fitted Threedogs (outback ideas) rear and another "rated" (sorry TD) brand to the front. Just have a look at the difference and you will see why. TD's rated rear is fully welded and twice as thick as the spot weld thing that comes on the standard patrol. Front also welded plate not just a hook. Spend the $'s and get them upgraded IMHO.
2005 GU IV ST 3.0. Snorkel. Roof rack. Awning. Spots. Welded I/C. Dual batteries & VSR. UHF. Barn door hinge extension. Roof top spot lights. Rear drawers. 2" lift. NADS. EGT and boost gauges. Trans temp and water temp gauges. Provent 200 catch can. Rear ladder
And crawling on the planet's face, some insects called the human race. Lost in time. And lost in space... and meaning.
