The possibility of a 'forever home' arose for Gina & this morning was the day she left us both with tear stained faces. She has been our constant companion for almost 7 months. I knew MrsTea would cry, but my uncontrollable blubbering was (& still is) unexpected. I awoke at 5am to the realisation she would soon be gone & that I had not said my goodbyes to her, so she had an earlier than usual morning walk chasing the ball that she loves so much. Our 'job' was to take her from 'failed working dog' to 'pot licker' - something she had adapted to with ease. Bon voyage little doggie.😭 xxxxxxxxxxxxx

@Cupppa never easy my friend never easy, its part of
life but you dont realise how much a dog can impact your life.
One of the worse things you can do.
ATM we have again 3 dogs go figure he he he but not looking
forward to saying goodbye when the time comes.
Id really like another Doberman, but a retired Greyhound sounds ok as well
Dogs eh what can you do, everyone needs a dog in their life
04 ST 3lt auto, not enough Mods to keep me happy, but getting there

A 4:30am house “wee.wee’s” somehow turned into a missing rescue mission breed pooch 1/2 a day Thursday blackberry lower block buck circle work chase together :-(
Doesn’t help when a 6 pointer bleats mid leg cock only 6m away in the morning yard
Silly still dehydrated bugger knows he’s done wrong, can’t even paw walk and needs help to carry outside for a bitch squat at best!

Unfortunately the time has come I believe for next levels of training out the mission, tone for starters, then vibrate, then zappy to snap out of his past being.

    Any other ideas @Bidja Mate?

@MB To hopefully avoid in house mishaps, need to take the boy outside before putting your head down for the night and when he pees out side, enforce it by saying have a pee "or what ever to coincide with the activity" and tell him he is a good boy. Could get Jimmy Bidja to pee on command (most times) and we now do it with our other 2 Kelpies before settling for the evening. Don't go hard discipline on em as does more harm than good.

All 4 Kelpies we have had, especially under 10 yrs of age, would do runners at times, chase and round up all things that run/hop and they found it hard to learn of the danger especially with big hoppers. Hard work but they need supervision and teach them to leave it (start with food / treats). Need a large enclosed yard for unsupervised control. Our two now 14 yr old are satisfied to just hang around close by (this is good).

Not a fan on shock training aids, did buy one similar but was never used. Having Red and her 3 pups for 14-15 yrs was a handful but we do miss them not being all together. Now there is only the two remaining/great mates (but getting older).

Found this old pic the other night (4 x full of life). From left: Red_mum(RIP), Jimmy Bidja(RIP), now Al and Chockie both with us.

A beautiful pack there always Brother
Apologies if I mislead you, big boof is now well house family (wee/poo) loving trained and only lacking that last instinctive breed chase built deep inside and previously encouraged I’m guessing? Reds & Blues mostly known react so much more intuitive/listen than old hunter mate, love him to bits still
