seat belt worrys
hey, well I was out wheeling on the weekend and was giving the truck a bit off a boot full came up to a bit of a ramp and launched it, what the scary thing was when I came down back to the earth the seatbelt tore completely at the stitching on the lowest point there was not a heap of force on it scared the crap out of me that it actually happened. I was just wondering has any one else come across this issue

seat belts on GU's are a Shite of a thing they don't retract etc,
if you have a search you'll find an after market mob that make seatbelts that retract and suit the GU.
Price is about $350 a pair, based in NSW I think

Like everything these have a life span to.
You've reached yours.. I'd be doing all of em to be sure. Last thing you want its to find a failure in a crash..
I have noticed gu belts are thinner and more comfortable. Dunno if the fit or not??

yes I will def be replacing them all with new ones just a bit concerning that there isn't a date when automotive seat belts should be replaced, though in plant machinery I clearly states when they should be changed

I'm surprised it ripped though, are sure there wasn't any pre wear rips or has it actually ripped the belt or has it purely pulled away from the stitching?

When I purchased my GQ the belts were buggered and if you live somewhere where there is a Bursons you can buy brand new generic belts-in black- for around $70 each depending on who you know. they work really well and retract at a great rate.
There is no use by date for seat belts however there is a tag which comes out near the bottom when the belt has been used in a full on restraint situation. As the tag is visible it makes them un roadworthy [in Vic]
