cooling system fan cluth often on....

hi guys. i replaced my fan clutch on a 1992 qg tb42e cause i thought the old one was dead. put new one in but its still runningvery often, sometimes just after the car has started...the temp guages on the dash never goes above the middle and levels ok. radiator seems to be ''free'', mean not blocked .
im running out of options. redid the injectors recently as well..
seems that the fan clutch gets a bit too much heat from the block...
could it be a problem of water pump then ?...
any opinion on that would be welcome ....
thank you for your time larry

hi threedogs. i got the car from a dealer in darwin and the head has been redone on it. the radiator has been recoated but i wonder like yu are thinking, that may be part of the radiator is blocked up inside. i did flush it but the car has 370.000 ks so wouldnt be surprised .....
just that the temp guage sits below average thats why i dont get it ah ah ah ...

i found that with a brand new fan it kicks in at about 84-85deg, half way on the gauge is rougly 88-90deg(i also have the digital temp on my ecu talk) i think from memory the std thermostat is about 80-82deg.

that said i wouldnt be suprised if my rad was a little blocked up.

Mine does the same. Driving to work early in the morning when it's cooler it's not on at all, driving home from work in the middle of the day it's almost on the hole way home. I have a feeling it my spotties effecting the airflow.

thanks for your views guys.the tb42e has a lot of radiators air con, auto gearbox and all of them are in front of the engine cooling one so wouldn t be surprised if a bit of debris or partial blockage would be responsible for the early start of the fan clutch....
