    exhaust rattle when hot ?

As of late every time the car is under load for a bit or if i gun it, for example once i come off the freeway, the car developed a rattle when ilding. Tapping the pedal a tad makes it go away once revs are even a tiny bit higher.
I can replicate the rattle by putting it in reverse under a bit of load. For example if rear wheels are choked with something like one of them shopping centre car park concrete barrier things.
I suspect and my mate thinks so as well its something to do with the exhaust rattling somewhere when heated up and metal expands once EGT's rise. Pissing down here most of day couldnt get under car.
Once again it only happens if the cars been pushed a bit and egts are up. Thats what i think anyway.
    Anyone had anything like this?

    Jamie,

I have the same exhaust, and mine only rattles a little on a hot startup.

It could be the exhaust system expanding when it is hot, and then touching on the chassis somewhere?

It can be fairly tight in there so check all the clearances around the exhaust, even when it is cold .... make sure that all the mounts are done up tight too.

its quite possible the bolts on the front of the muffler have come slightly loose and the exhaust has moved a bit. there is adjustment there. I have to get under and do mine again as well.kev

Bloody hell. This very well could be the answer to my rattling/vibrating. And I too have a beaudesert system fitted.
My original post regarding very similar symptoms. Once stopping after pushing the car a bit, rattle develops. I haven't tried the reverse trick. I'll go suss it out right now! If this is, what it is, Jamie beers are on me mate!

hi. thought i'd update this. just returned from SA, while over there the exhaust developed a super rattle and it turned out to be at the turbo heat shield end, being very loose and once warm it rattled it's nannas off. all solved now. just thought id update this in case somebody else has similar issues.

Good chance internal divider, or a internal pipe connection has come loose, either way sooner or later $$.

I recently bought Scotts rods system. cheaper than B, but never owned a B before so can't comment other than price,
    Scotts fitted up easy,
and he was very helpful over the phone.
Only thing was tail pipe was straight out the back and not bend down at all.
so what, well if ya tow anything, diesel soot goes over your trailer.
I'm guessing straight = better departure angle.
    IF IT'S NOT A NISSAN.
    THEN IT'S A COMPROMISE
