No one seems to know exactly what the differences are and they all pretty much look the same, the best offer was, that i could try a different cable and send it back if it didn't work, but to be honest, i don't really want to put it "all" back together to find out it does not work, and just imagine how many "spare" screws ill have left over if i have to put it back together "twice" (lol)
At this stage,Id much rather get the right cable, or hear from someone who knows 100% what other part number will work.
Im running out of time and may just have to get one from china and wait.

Ill ring em today mate, im assuming they will be like the other repair shops , and don't sell those sort of parts...

Silly if i had to put it all back together to pay them to pull it apart when its something i can fit myself, i bet it would probly cost $200 to fix, and i could buy a new PC for $300 or so, its really only worth fixing if i do it myself.

As per my earlier post, they will be useless to you in this scenario as they only sell components to build a PC, they would have nothing in the way of integral laptop parts.
May I suggest you join a PC forum mate. One of the best ones is the Overclockers. http://forums.overclockers.com.au/index.php
And post a thread there about your dilemma, and you may have some luck there. :S
