Mate, it would have happened so fast before people could have had a chance to realise what was going on.
PS, I am glad the MONSTER was shot dead! I now feel sorry for the poor officer that shot the Monster. He will never be the same again!

I wish he did not die so he could receive regular beatings by other inmates in prison.

As bad as it may sound but I believe that sort of aggression would not have been the first time, the poor kid is prob better off. But yes I also think the the father should have lived and received regular beatings for the rest of his life.

SUCH IS LIFE
There's a bit more info from the mother. http://www.news.com.au/national/rosi...-1226826275323
I just don't understand how someone could do it to a child and I suppose I never will.

CERTIFIABLY INSANE
Truly an unspeakable act and I simply can't comprehend it. It brings a tear to my eye every time I hear the news report and I imagine the terror of that young boy. Even worse that it happened at the hand of one of 2 people he most trusted in the world.
It is unfortunately a reminder of the domestic and family violence that occurs on a daily basis and in this case sounds like a situation exacerbated by serious mental illness (though we don't really know).
I know the reaction is to think of this man as a monster and yes, it was a monstrous act but I am also sad that somehow the mental health/justice system has irrevocably failed this family and unfortunately it won't be the last time.
Seriously, if you are struggling with life and your mental health, please seek help.

This tragedy will touch the lives of many. I sincerely hope that it will send a clear message to the authorities that there needs to be way more resources available for sufferers with mental health issues. I think the depression thread is just about the best thing on this forum, thank you Jonathon.
My advice is: not to follow my advice.

Its hard to imagin what you would do in a situation like this untill it happens but being a family event I would think most peoples instinct would be to get there own kids and family out of harms way as a priority also.
I'm also glad he was shot dead as I don't beleave our justice system is good enough, take max sica getting only 35 years for brutally murdering 3 kids(strangled, drowned and bludgeoned) here in brisbane and I doubt he will serve his full term.
