    Definately solid. XLR8 makes them strong. I think the car will fall apart before the sliders get damaged

    If you have a, or access to a welder, make your own! I did and made a solid slider but stuck it out a bit further to use as a side step aswell. also helps keep your car off the rock/ bank/ stump etc. 50 mm internal diameter 3mm wall.

    I wouldn't trust my welding enough for how strong I want it and don't have a pipe bender.

    I only tacked mine and got someone who can weld to do it properly! I also bought bends as the pipe bender wouldn't get them tight enough for me. Just did exactly the same with my rear bar.

    I put the grip tape on, it's awesome for getting in the car when the sliders are wet, cause they are slippery as all hell, but it's a pain in the arrrs when getting out. If you slide out and graze your leg on it, it will make you bleed. You do get used to it tho.

    After Saturday the wife has agreed that we are in the market for a set as well ! One of my mates sons made his for his 80 series and work well , best bit is he owes favour !
    If ya not using it buy a prius .....
