Inside of Intercooler Pipes black
Ok newbie question (and I will accept all ribbing and insults on face value)
Had cause to pull intercooler off a 2.8TD today (replace blown water pump) and noted the two pipes have what appears to be black possibly oil build up inside them, is this normal vehicle is running fine, plenty of power etc (for a 2.8) is this cause for alarm
Cheers,
Scott

If the engine breather plums back into the intake pre turbo that will be your cause.

How's the serenity
Time for your intake system to have a birthday . Kerosene is your friend . Remove intercooler and clean . Inlet manifold and throttle body , hoses the lot .Ensure you dry parts well before refit. Maybe consider a provent 200 catchcan install . oodles of info on this forum about catchcans , goodluck .No wouldnt say cause for alarm at all , just time for some lovin .

X2 with boots, do it and keep an eye on it, have you fitted a catch can as if not that will be the cause.
