    what battery to buy??

gday, im currently running 2 x delcor m27 calcium batteries(about the same size as a n70zz) but the secondary battery has died,it charges up ok and holds voltage ,but as soon as I switch on the fridge the voltage drops from 12.7v down to under 10v,ive tried doing a recondition charge on the ctek charger with no luck,i did drain the battery over Christmas to under 10v (fridge was running but car hardly moved for 3 weeks)o my question is should I just buy another delcor or should I spend double the money and buy an optima?? if yes for the optima, should I get a yellow or blue top(deep cycle)?? thanks in advance.

Get the best you can afford, the optima will take more of a pounding but if your going to drain any battery like that don't expect it to last.
IMO get the cheaper battery that will last... provided its looked after and maintained then put the savings towards a solar panel and/or volt gauge and keep your batteries above 11.6 volt any lower and your going to do damage.
Even if your car didn't move its not hard to crank it over and hit the idle up for 30 mins a day or better yet put a panel on it

Mine too is going and needs replacing.
When I get the new battery installed, I will also get an Anderson plug set up in the grille to plug in a charger every few days. To keep it maintained well.

Your dual batt should do that , I've go an Anderson plug on the bull bar going to my cte250dual so I just plug in the solar panel and I'm done as it has a built in regulator. What dual batt system you have mego ?

    Redarc BS12 ( I think )
Some one said it may not fully charge a battery but only to 80-90% full.

Yea that unit is just an isolator, the bcdc units will do the full charge and some take solar but I'm not that familiar with redarc products

Have a look at CAT batteries. They have a huge range, awesome warranty, rugged, reliable (as they are designed for heavy equipment) and they are cheap.

The warrany is 4 years, the first 2 years is complete warranty, the next 2 you pay half the replacement cost.

Yeap X2 on CAT Batteries, great warranty and good price. They have an online catalog that has all the specs and physical size. They are built to withstand vibration and punishment, I've got two of them and very pleased.
    Cheers

I use a Trojan wet cell for my AUX battery never ran out of power over a week end period,
I also have a 50 amp Anderson on the bull bar to either plug in my 80 watt panel or
use it as an extra 12v outlet
