For sure with performance, like Kwinana-WA's wind doctor drag strip :-)
Although I reckon with the smashing downpour we just had here whilst driving home from work was filling up the airbox like being underwater :-(

A ram head will seperate the water and heavier particles. It creates high speed air which travels athrough the small openings at the bottom of the slots.
No ram head will pull more water in than not.

No they are fine. As above they are designed for this purpose. Have seen on a few occasions people with full 4" intakes and rear facing snorkel with no ram that pull water into the airbox.

Cheers NNB,
You've got me seriously worried now for a theory I had on my ute project, apologies for 'hi-jacking' AB but it's kind of relevant to both our rigs !
Could this roof centre facing 'pipe only' system possibly vortex backwards severe rain:-( ?
Cheers

I prefer the ram head as it reduces the bloody stupid noise and the rain going into my snorkel was a real concern.
Mine is from a truck spare parts place but can be found on ebay.
It is a donaldson ram head.

In theory yes, as Matty mentioned with a properly made Ram head.
You heard how much air was being sucked into my snorkel, literally an intense vacuum, even reverse facing or worse your pic above would suck rain water in potentially.

would be good if you could get a good offset ram head over the inner A pillar/windscreen area?

Yeah that's interesting...
I've driven in these conditions a million times with my set up and never had water inside.
