Patrol God
I've found that the lip of the radiator can get scored, pitted or slightly out of shape, which weakens the seal. Polishing it with a bit of very fine grade wet'n'dry glued to a flat piece of wood will show any problems in the early stages of rubbing and should fix them with a little bit of elbow grease.

I showed the cap to Patrolapart and they said the seal looks poor so its looking like the culprit.

Happy days!
Just drove an 8 hour return trip with the van using the new radiator cap.
Temps were perfect although it was a cooler weekend and zero coolant loss!

Annnnd not so happy days!
Just noticed a leak in the corner core of the radiator one week before heading off to Cape Jaffa, love it!!!
Showed the radiator mob and they said the old Natrad 3 core radiators always do that in the corners and I'm very lucky to even get my 6 years out of it.

The only good thing about an 80 series is..... the front end?? Wrong!!, the Engine?? Wrong!! the Full Time 4WD system?? Wrong!! Its the NissanPatrol.com.au stubby holder fitted over the transfer lever.

Everyone is too busy here, showed YV Rad and they are confident I'll be fine for Cape Jaffa and get it sorted mid Jan.
