Buy a new Y61 in the runout? Comments

Hello All (after a long break).
I am seriously considering buying a new Y61 ST Plus Special Edition (pre-Oct 2013 ADR Compliance ST plus some extra goodies) in the next few days.
My usage for the vehicle is venturing into remote areas, towing a camper trailer where possible. The Patrol is to replace the Jackaroo that has given stirling service.
I would welcome any comments or alerts from those who know the current ST. Any advice will be appreciated.
    Cheers
    OldCodger

    Which engine?
Dolphins are so smart that within a few weeks of captivity, they can train people to stand on the very edge of the pool and throw them fish.

    Welcome mate.
    Sounds awesome.
    Which extras are you getting.
If your looking at going remote then bolt on the basics.
    Dual battery
Lift kit and good AT tyres
A nice stainless reverse light and tyre bag to suit..
You may need a roof rack depending on how you travel.
    And some recover gear.
A winch is top of the list, but this list is huge and changes depending on the trip..

Anyway, enjoy the experience. Nothing like that new car smell..
    Cheers

    Good choice! Toughest 4x4 around.
If you're not too concerned about warranty. I would NAD it the moment you bring it home. That way the engine and the turbo breath easy from the start. Will prolong engine life massively.

Love my new car, which I guess is no longer new. Which now looks like this.

Don't forget to really bust their balls fir the best price, then bust their balls for extra extras.
That's what I did, but it did go on for nearly four months, until they throw in everything they had, I didn't sign, then I got them to extra ARB gear pre delivery (although the ARB stuff I paid probably half of what ARB would charge me).
Then I got my seats done.

Aaaaaaarrrrrrgggggggg, yes, of course. I meant which transmission.

Personally, I would only get the vehicle if it was an auto at a gob smackingly good deal.

I just can't find it in me to recommend the CRD with a manual tranny for remote travel when towing.

Mine is an '07 with nearly 160,000 K's up. It is on it's 3rd Clutch, 3rd Dual mass Flywheel, 2nd Turbo, 3rd Intercooler, 2nd Dash, 3rd Satnav and I have learnt to carry a spare belt tensioner assy or risk yet another recovery on a flat bed. Thankfully I had the 6 year warranty.

Did you get your seats done mate, I don`t think you have mentioned it before, are they not standard then?
It is now official, we are not quite so sh@t at cricket as we were! Rugby Union is a different matter.
