98 4.5 ti Diff lock light stays on

    Hi guys,
I had trouble with my factory diff lock so I went through the threads and saw the solution was and ordered the new mac valve, installed the relay to get to work. But now the diff lock light stays on and the abs light flickers.
I disconnected the diff lock switch at the back and then the on off switch as well later but the light stays on?
Disconnected the mac valve and relay but light still stays on?
The diff lock works 100% now but the light just stays on.
I checked all the fuses and they are fine(engine bay and insite).

Any of you have any ideas why it stays on and what can I do to fix it please?
    Thank you.

Maybe the solenoids on passengers firewall isnt working correctly. There should be two one to activate and one to deactivate. Try swapping the hoses over and if it turns off then you have a faulty one. If this is the problem you can get these from most wreckers for a few dollars. Hope it helps.

Sorry just re read your post. If i read correctly you replaced one of the solenoids. If you havent already done try swap over the hoses incase the other solenoid faulty.

I bought one of that MACVALVES to replace the original diff lock solenoid.
But since then the diff lock light stayed on.
But I fixed it this passed weekend.
Its got an diff lock control unit, that shitted it self.
I think the current that the new solinoid takes was more than it can give and there is no fuse between it.
So I redid the wiring to cut it out.
Took me 2 hours to trace all the wires that works with the diff lock.
    Now it works 100%.
You can even use it now in 2wd.
Works just like it came from the factory, now just better.

    Thanks for the replies guys.
