Toyota engine in a patrol. - easy?

At times reading through the forums I see pages of grenade related headaches. This gets me thinking about different vehicles and what parts are useful and desirable for the patrol. Swapping out a grenade engine for a relatively reliable Toyota one is one of those things I wondered about. Not fixated on any particular engine.

So how hard is it to have a Toyota engine in a patrol chassis?

I have heard of Toyota owners putting patrol running gear in for strength.

What is harder - running gear swap or engine swap?

Why bother TD42 engines are bullet proof and you can pick them up reasonably priced. But if you spend some money. Not much. And look after the 3 l all is good depends what your after. Hard core nuts will put the toughest gear in their vehicles. Daily drivers don't needs them. Your choice and your wallet

I think the hardest part about putting Toyota parts in a Nissan is placing your testicles In the jar On the shelf and buying a skirt...

Toyota drivers put Nissan parts in as their already in that situation and trying their hardest to get their testies back and In footy shorts..
In short Its less painful for them..

    But again, why would you.
Td42 is a time and tested proven motor, simple but super reliable, needs no electrical work to run and makes as much power as you like.

The only engine you'd consider is the V8 and I think the wiring harness would be a nightmare..

    P4Trol,

It has been done before as there is one that I have seen on one of the forums.....cost over $25K.....owner very happy

Not sure if I would go down that route though, as I am confident in my CRD

Diesel or petty?? Sure the petrols are good, so are the tb42's. Our TB45 has all that wiz bang fancy valve and wiring stuff..
But the diesels, TD42 all the way.
    The less electronics the better..
