Intercooler Upgrades zd30 EBAY
Hi Guys
I'm looking at probably upgrading my intercooler to the welded ones. I've seen now a couple of sellers advertising these intercoolers. And they don't need Exchange units either. They are all over ebay under $400 .
Some talk about having 20 tubes instead of 12 making it better ? thicker core ?
Anyone purchased any of these. which ones are recommended ? are they good ?
thanks heaps

They have come down in price and rightly so for them to be charging $600 PLUS FOR A $50 CORE is ridiculas
Check if they are pressure tested , the higher the better and what kind of warranty they offer.
I paid these prices for a change over but I was happy with that. None of these were available 6 months ago
Its a must do and you will notice the difference

All those IC's you linked are the same IC, just from a different reseller. I got one from Autocooling for $380. No improvement in power, EGT's dropped but only ever so slightly, maybe 10-30c, but my EGT's were low to start with. Would I have bought one if I knew the little difference I would have in EGT's? Nup. But I sure as hell wasn't going to hand over my hard earned on a CC or HPD cooler, thats for sure. Unless I could try one first, then I would.
Being all the same, go for the one that gives you the new o'ring I reckon. I just used my old one and sealed it up with a smear of silicone.
One thing I did find though. The hole where the MAP sensor screws into, the taper they put on it wasn't big enough so the sensor didn't pull down properly. I just drilled it out a little more and then more silicone there too, just to make sure it won't leak.

Anyway one less thing to worry about, they should have been tigged from the factory.
Keep an eye on your gauges as you'll need to adjust your boost again.
@ Mudski you mean the boost sensor

Just ordered one of these to replace my oily leaking original 03 troll.
I'd rather ease off the go pedal to reduce egt's than try to get more blood out of the zd stone with the you beaut big $$$$ coolers
Cheers
