Driving lights high beam.
Hi there, chuck here, I am fitting a new set of lights with a loom included, all is going well despite the limited space under the bonnet. my question is can anyone suggest an alternative high beam pick up rather than at the head light.
With the dual batteries and air cleaner the access to the Left hand head light is not happening.

Grab it off the drivers side as I think the left side comes from the drivers side too take the wire across the radiator support panel. I assume your going from the hi beam light to the relays in the new loom?

The only good thing about an 80 series is..... the front end?? Wrong!!, the Engine?? Wrong!! the Full Time 4WD system?? Wrong!! Its the NissanPatrol.com.au stubby holder fitted over the transfer lever.

I picked up the high beam at the drivers side light. Access was heaps easier.

just make sure you cover that wire in a plastic sheath , then use flex conduit ...otherwise too much for it to rub on ....trouble later

You can also find the high beam feed at the headlight switch.

Yeah... changing the LH side headlight globe is gangs of fun as well. Any particular reason why you are setting it all up on the LHS?
I always wire up on the RHS, lots of little nooks to mount gear or run wires, easiest spot to pick up the hi-beam, same side as the existing relays, fuse box, cranker battery etc etc

Yep Chuck here .
Thanks for the feed back.
In hind sight the right would be easier as stated, But I started on the left and when I got to the head light, bugger me I cant get my hand in to the wire loom as you know.
After 2 hours and a neat job, next time I will think and look at the job a few beers longer.
thanks again
