thermostat
anyone out there no if it is bad to run a td42 with out thermostat had new radiator put in my guy thinks it is with out one and I know it takes a long time to warm up.

It's not bad bad but it's not good either.
Without a thermostat your engine will not reach operating temperature faster and will put more wear on the engine.
Worth putting one in long term mate.

You also wouldn't get that lead way of the thermo opening up to allow cooler coolant to flow in if needed. It will be a constant temperature throughout the entire system which I wouldn't want IMO.

Plus I'm thinking if a car has an ecu, this temp problem without a thermostat will play havoc....
