Will probably roll into Dalhousie and set camp then head to Mt Dare for fuel and a Desert pass for me.
If the condition of Oodnadatta track is good how long does that track take?

The only good thing about an 80 series is..... the front end?? Wrong!!, the Engine?? Wrong!! the Full Time 4WD system?? Wrong!! Its the NissanPatrol.com.au stubby holder fitted over the transfer lever.

All good, everything turned up today so I can finally get it all finished.
Spoke to someone at work today who had just come down the Oodnadatta track from the Finke race. Sounds like it was a bit wet up there and a some roads were closed for a couple of days, but it's all good now. Hopefully it stays dry and open.
I've stayed at Coward Srpings before and it's defiantly a worthwhile stopover. Planning on staying there depending when I get on the road. See how we go might be able to meet up there even.

Hi Guys,
I was having a good look at the map last night and pretty keen to do a couple of the Southern tracks across (Rig Rd, WAA Line) can people please indicate how much fuel they will be carrying?
I will have 175Lt under the car and looking to take at least 1x20lt on the roof. May consider taking 2 Just incase. Please let me know if you are carrying less that 175lts please?

Also, i can confirm that the Oodnadatta is smooth and graded and will not slow us at all.
I am looking to return to Melbourne via the Corner Country (QLD, NSW, SA) then down through Broken Hill. This will likely add a day or 2 to the return trip. (last time when we did the Madigan we did 2 massive days in the car and drove Birdsville to Geelong in 2 days) No real need to do that. The trip through Broken Hill will be dependant of the roads being open as they close them if there is light rain.
I can Confirm that there is No Fires allowed at Dalhousie but no restrictions once into the desert park. I have a friend that was there at Easter and had little trouble finding fire wood on the WAA line but i would still like us to carry our own guys. Please all bring a Bag of Wood (Servo bag or similar) then we can always have a good sized fire that 20 can sit around.
