    Fuel dockets....

Now that the dockets have been capped at 4cpl I wonder if fuel will drop in price. It was insightful to see the dockets get up to 20cpl. It was their way of trapping us in the pricing racket...

SUPERMARKET giants Woolworths and Coles have agreed to cap their 'shopper docket' fuel discount offers at just 4c per litre in a deal negotiated with the competition regulator.

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) said it had accepted undertakings from both of the retailers that they would voluntarily cease making fuel discount offers that were cross-subsidised by other parts of their business, and limit fuel discounts linked to supermarket purchases to a maximum of 4c per litre from January 1.

ACCC chairman Rod Sims said the commission had investigated the shopper docket schemes and was concerned that higher-value offers, including 8c per litre discounts that were available for sustained periods in 2012 and 2013, "could have longer-term effects on the structure of the retail fuel markets, and also short term effects of increasing general pump prices in those markets''.

"Some fuel retailers had complained that they simply could not afford to match the supermarkets' fuel discounts of 8c or more, because those discounts were being funded from markets that were separate and unrelated to the fuel retailing markets,'' Mr Sims said.

"By removing the funding by supermarkets and limiting the supermarket offers to a maximum of 4c per litre, the ACCC considers that other fuel retailers will be able to compete on a more level playing field.''

Coles managing director Ian McLeod said he firmly believed the company had not broken the law with its fuel offers, but acknowledged the ACCC's concern that there could be adverse competition effects over time.

"Coles has worked hard to lower both the cost of a weekly shopping basket and provide better value at the fuel pump and we are pleased that the 4c per litre docket discount will remain in place for our customers,'' he said.

So now they will just pocket the extra profit they were putting in to the fuel dockets. The ACCC working at their best again to screw us over.

Total BS.. We're paying $1.52 for regular down here, everyday..
Im dreading the first time I fill the full long range setup when I get it in of diesel. I'm guessing not much change from $300...
