    Which tyre to buy

Hi, at the moment I have MICKY THOMPSON 305/70/16 MTZ on my Nissan Patrol GU (1998) which look awesome but use too much fuel.

I am doing only 20% off road and 80% road and looking for new tyres (and try selling my micky thompsons).

I have 2' suspension and I am a bit lost in which tyres I should take (and which size). Which brand would you recommend and should I switch to 285?

Mickey T have got a new tyre which replaces the old 4 rib all terrain and looks a little more chunky, might be perfect for you. I would go with 285 myself, more of a standard size.

jeez guys, good way to put new members off......... kind of reminds me of another forum that folk on here bitch about!!!!!!!!!!

Danny, welcome aboard mate. What sort of off roading do you do? BFG AT's are a good all rounder, Mickey Thompson STZ could be the way to go depending on what sort of off roading you do........ have a look here http://www.mickeythompsontires.com.a...x.php?page=STZ.

    Good luck and happy hunting

An a/t would definitely suffice for the amount of offroad you are doing, If you go down to a 285 it will be a little easier to push them on the truck, I guess it really comes down to what type of tread you want? Aggressive or a more conservative pattern? Price might play a part too?

I like my Kumho a/ts fairly aggressive but got a good price at around $240 a tyre, and that's for a 285/75/16 too! If you want a pic of the tread let me know.

    Cheers,
    Eric.
