Powdercoating original GU alloys ???
Has anybody here successfully powder coated their original alloys? Just saw how good they look in black, but I'm not confident in a paint job. Getting mixed feedback from powder coating places, some say a big no no because alloy can warp or crack due to the heat enforced during the process, others say, no dramas, they do it all the time. It's 50/50.
Kind of pissed off. Already ordered new tyres on 16" dynamic rims, and only then saw how good these look in black. lol

I had 2 navara sets 2 pac-ed, and both within weeks, especially off-road, copped stone chips and scratches and looked shyte with alloy standing out through it. Both were done professionally and not a home job so, so whether those guys done a real shit job, or 2 pac really isn't the way to go, I'm not sure. :S

Have you considered that plasti dip stuff mate?

I guess the advantage is that you can peel it off and redo it over and over again, That's gotta be a win!
Cheers,
Eric.

Been quoted $45 a rim to be powder coated. That's a 15" steel sunny though.
Also powder coat is just as venerable to stone chips as 2pack paint.
If that's the case I'd suggest enamel and carry a can of black to patch up.

Have a butchers at Stropps rims, only partly powder coated but look great. Pretty sure he's got some pics in his thread somewhere of what they look like.
