I may or may not have bought/scored a UFI 18g upgrade kit for the GU.
Some family associates bought GU with a bunch of included un-fitted goodies (someones abandoned project?). One of them being a new 18G kit. They have no intentions of fitting it, so a kind trade offer was made I would've been stupid to pass on. After consulting some experts (Thanks Mat), this seems to be a good bit of kit.
It's weeks away from being in my hands. And then after checking things over, I'll have to work out fitting etc... So maybe a while away still but I'm pumped!!!

    Nice one Hodge.
I'll be watching with genuine interest. I'm curious to see how upgrading a turbo (and possibly intercooler) will change things if retaining the factory fuel pump.
Your pump is still the factory unit, right?

Yeah mate. I still have the factory pump. Which I believe is 11mm ?? Someone correct me here.
I have the big Cross Country intercooler and a 3" exhaust. So a good portion of making the TD42 sing better is already done. As for the turbo, well, I quote nissannewby here, anything is better than the HT18. lol
Also the last tune the GU had at Dieseltec in Lilydale, Andy there said the turbo was my big bottleneck as the HT18 is way up at it's limit.

So, with all the upgrades I've done thus far, how much effect the 18G will have, without also doing the pump???? *shrug*

Interesting. I also have a 3in exhaust with factory turbo, intercooler and fuel pump.
Andy at DieselTec also tuned mine to run better as the previous owner had dialled up the fuel but not the boost.
Mine is currently 98kw and 369nm at 12psi with the factory turbo but is running better fuel economy.
It sounds like your setup will test all the elements that I am wanting to upgrade while still testing the limits of the factory fuel pump.

Popped into the Seymour Farming Expo today to kick some tyres with a piece of straw in my mouth:

Didn’t want it but needed to buy it to stop hydraulic oil getting in my eyeballs

Don’t need it but hopefully oneday Santa will get off his arse and weld me up one of these Beauty’s

My bro in law has one of the first of those ovens in his shed. It is epic to say the least. The fire box is huge! On a freezing winter's night with that fire going it would be 32C in the shed easy.

    Pretty good price I reckon!

I "think" the alternator was getting a tad noisier than usual, so, I bought a new Hitachi unit from Patrolapart. Original is 16 years old, and it began making odd noises after many many river crossings up Mt Matlock a year and a half ago. So I thought I'd give it a re-fresh.
