It's a awesome park though. My boy loves it. I think the original one burnt down.

SCA sales so I picked up some Treds for $160 and a couple of 2 watt hand held UHF's. Free delivery was an added bonus.
As I lay there looking up, taking in the spectacular view that was the night sky and the multitude of stars I asked myself, where did my tent go?

I picked up 2 off 200w solar panels today, delivered, for $85 each! They are the same size as my 60W Canons. Could not pass them up.

ie: 0.42 CENTS/WATT, that is a good price there Phil. Just goes to show how costs have come down so much over the yrs, quality aside.

I Have been generating my own electricity since 1991 (stand alone) and I started of with qty 36 x 75w BP 275 solar panels @ $650 each which was $8.66/watt (20 times the cost of yours). I am still running 20 of these BP panels and after 27 yrs they remain to perform near to new spec. Also run 24 x HIT 205watt panels (Sanyo) , all arrays on trackers situated 200m from battery bank.

Yes, the price was stupid cheap, they have a good warranty and look pretty good, plus they are almost the identical size to the canons that I purchased 20 yrs ago and have been on the truck almost from day 1. I will be interested to see how they perform in cloudy days etc as this is where the canons shine I recokon. The canons are still putting out their nameplate current after all this time, but you need to keep the panels clean/dust/dirt free. for max efficiency.

Mine need a wash down, they don't get carted around the bush.

Have a few left overs, "ready use spares" in the shed, a couple on a conduit frame (portable) for the van (converted) over from 3 way fridge to Engel and fitted a battery/switching to go between either truck aux and / or van (in parallel) sealed LA.

One day might make up fwd sliding rack/frame for a panel to fit under roof rack mesh base, slide fwd when stationary to charge and also act as shade over windscreen.
