The welder does both. But I welded gasless today and it's way easier than my arc welder. My first run was like chook poo but after I'd finished the job I didn't even have to grind the welds back. It's great to be able to weld thinner stuff without blowing holes everywhere.

Yea I'm doing gasless also I just can't justify hiring a bottle or buying those stupid little cylinders and it seems to be alright just a bit more prep b4 painting.

I bought the Cigweld brand from SCA. Although their own brand was much cheaper, I have a 15 plus year old Cigweld arc welder I bought new back then and is still going great so I thought to stick to the same brand.
But it will be interesting when I attack my door and attempt to plug weld.

Pull the skin off the inside maybe you can weld in a brace or something on the inside that can run up the inside for support?
But from memory there's fark all room and access will suck

Yeah I have to bend a piece of flat metal to the curve of the door and then slide it up inside the skin and weld through holes drilled. Grind it all back, bog, sand and paint.

didnt "buy" it but at work i have these stainless single or double ring wok burners so i am "testing" it out on the simmo trip so i wont have to worry about the disposable gas containers getting cold and the stove not lighting up. Cheap as chips too lol, same as my demo car fridge i use.

I have recently been using an inverter welder, it replaces my Transarc CIG.
IMO it'll weld better on thinner material as it doesn't flare up when first arched.
plus you can fit a tig later if required
Jury is out for me on Gasless I prefer stick

Well my stick welder would just blow holes in anything thin, so this is perfect for my home use. Dunno the difference between inverter welder and others, plus Tig welding???
Also DHL delivered today! Got my new lhs hub for my troll, plus more OEM parts for my store, as the one on the car, the inner bearing has been spinning on the shaft and where the seal runs is fubar and water is always getting in.
