If that's the case then Hodge, why is the news not more widespread, why is there no recall etc etc. Too many people jump on the cheap shit band wagon.

look at the CF60 in this, look familiar

If the fridge was at fault in the second damaged fridge, why is the cable fried as far back as it is? You would have thought that there would be more damage on the compressor end where all the electrical doohickeys are.

I'd be more inclined to blame dodgy wiring/ installation and incorrect fuse type and size being used

No idea why there is no recall Clunky. The fridge is only NEW in the grand scheme of things. But call them up and ask why they don't sell them any more or why it's been completely removed from their website/shop.
It's not just because somebody wired their shit wrong.

As for similarity to Waeco, ust because they came out of same factory doesn't make it the same product. They may have used the same mould/plastics, look similar etc...
Their awnings come from the same place as TJM and ARB, are they the same? Their canvas might as well be baking paper. Thats how good it is.
Too many people jump on the "But it's from the same factory...." bandwagon too.

But let's forget that any of them caught fire for a moment....
Believe me the fridge is shit compared to a Waeco. And yes I am jumping on the SHIT bandwagon on this fridge because I have seen and touched one in person.
The overall feel of the unit is cheap. You plug the cable at the back and the whole assembly bends inwards and the plastics surrounding the electrical parts seem like they will crumble at the next speed hump....

    Just my observation.

From my limited knowledge on Waeco fridges the Wiring as @Clunk says needs to be the correct size,,etc
When ever someone says the red light is on and my fridge isnt working, bet your bottom dollar its a Waeco.
Ive been on many trips with a guy called Trevor the Waeco rep he was on board to answer any wiring related probs.

Eric. If you don't mind could you let me know when your mate gets his draws. Suppose if I add the time difference I'll have a true ETA.
