Finally bite the bullet and am going to setup a solar reg permanent in the truck. Also got the Bluetooth dongle module so I can get live info on my phone and 30 day history too.

I am he, fear me
I use them a fair bit (not the Dongle tho)
One minor issue (but major design fail) IMHO is the LV disconnect jumper is proud of the case so is easy to bust off/dislodge.
To get the best result if you have multiple panels is hook them up in series not parallel.
MPPT is more efficient at the higher Input volts.
Dolphins are so smart that within a few weeks of captivity, they can train people to stand on the very edge of the pool and throw them fish.

The bluetooth plugs in where the jumper would go. The settings etc are then controlled through a phone app. Yet to try it but thats my take on it. So no jumper needed.

I've got my solar on the roof already. Just need to get the time and motivation to find a suitable spot for the regulator.

Didnt buy it but scored a 42" single row light bar with spot in the centre and flood on the outside.
My son found it while doing traffic duties, Ill never use it as I like my double row spot bar.
But you never know, still trying to talk myself into removing my driving lights and replacing
with a 600mm light bar. decisions decisions lol

Up under the front deflector is that too far away from the battery for you ???
If you need to weather proof it whip done to Safeways and grab a tupperware
dish to suit.

For convenience I was even thinking on the cargo barrier. It would mean at least a couple of meters run (still less than the 10m cable it came with) but access would be simple and straight forward as I already have 6 B&S twin core running to a junction down back and was contemplating running power to roof rack for lights from there too. Although running power from snorkle side out of bonnet would be neat (also have junction there). No snorkle yet though. Got a factory one in the shed from old gu ute. But contemplating 4" snorkle so not sure i can be bothered installing factory nissan haha. First world problems.
