Got sick of being used as a taxi service for the kids so I'm now a dinosaur UBER GQ taxi service .

Brought myself a 20amp waterproof mttp solar reg,
that will go in the engine bay,to run another panel somewhere

Am I right in saying this needs to be mounted close to the battery??

I bought some cable and a 120watt folding solar panel. Going to need to keep the battery charged for this damned CPAP machine I need to use now. Guess I better grab an inverter also.

Closer the better threedogs , just make sure it's not going to be affected by heat too much and is it waterproof ?

Just doing some research in another area and came across this projecta 12 volt doc dc charger that also functions as an mppt regulator and is ok for under bonnet . Cheaper than most on the market that do similar at $269 , reckon an mppt controller alone would be that much .
