Catch can
I've checked the installed catch can of my patrol after doing 15k kms (10k miles) or 10 months of use. I was able to extract about 200ml of engine oil from the catch can. My GU III got 81k kms on the clock.
Does it show any bad sign?

Good question. I like to hear an answer from someone in the know.
Surely that's a lot of oil.
And where does it come from.

Not a bad sign. Its just the oil in the crankcase vapours its catching. Not actual oil from the sump itself. I found different brands of engine oil would result in different amounts of caught in the catch can.

Thank you for your responses. My GU didn't engage in any towing. Just travel 40-km climb every week. Pushing @ 120-150 kph in expressways.
