What about a drive along Haunted Stream track up to Tom Groggin and towards ACT past the Snowy River and Hydro Scheme.....?
Rather than a base camp we keep moving each day?

That would be a great idea as there are some great spots to along the Davies High Plain and Tom Groggin - but you would have to plan the trip out carefully, as there aren't many spots for a big group to camp along the Haunted Stream, and only at the end too, so you would need to ensure everyone gets through in the day.....
