The Mad Ozzy
Sump Oil Valve??
Doing the usual at 2 in morning, trolling through the pages on Fleabay and came across a valve that bolts in to replance your normal sump bolt.
Personally I am bit unsure of using it due to it's location and easily getting damaged but thought I would post it in case anyone else was interested.

There really good, a lot of earthmoving gear have them or a small brass tap (no more striped sump plug holes). The diff and front tail shaft will get taken out first befor your sump takes a hit :-)

Looking for some up to date thoughts on the Fumoto sump tap.....
Best place to buy?
Does it leak?
Does it get full of mud/sand?
Can it get knocked 'on'?
Is it easy to tighten to an upright position or does that not matter?
I presume it comes with a washer?
Any other thoughts....?
Thanks in advance..

My only thoughts on this product is what a waste of time and money. It takes a whole minute to undo a sump plug.
Unless theres something else to it i have missed....
Mud, sand and getting knocked off would be a major concern for me.

I'll tell you what is waste of time and money, the fcuking Nissan Patrol and its fcuked up 5,000 km oil changes if anything! What a POS from dino age with such low oil change intervals!
That Fumoto valve is a godsent, no more fcuking around with spanners/sockets/tension wrenches or looking for fcuking washers which always leak if not replaced or covered hands/forearms/sleeves with filthy oil while trying to escape the stream of oil ....
I absolutely despise undoing sump plugs, always a lottery, always something goes wrong, always messy....
OP, don't listen to knockers and haters! If you do the oil changes yourself you gonna love it. It doesn't leak, it comes with the washer, it fits perfectly, it doesn't fill with mud or sand or whatever, and if you think you gonna knock it off then good luck to you because by that time you'll have no front diff in place any more and possibly no sump either.
Anyway, enjoy doing the oil changes the hard way! After you fit one you'll be wondering how did you go by without it. No mess, full control of the draining process, if you overfill you can easily correct it, its the way every engine should have one!
Cheers
