Question Looking to buy a TD42 or a SWB TB4.2/LGP turbo

Alright, so I'm thinking of buying a GQ Patrol / Maverick. First time poster

Have been looking at a few with the 4.2 Turbo Diesel. Obviously they are the preferred engine of most people. But I really enjoy the SWB models
I have seen a few of the 4.2 Petrol SWB models aswell.

Is the huge price difference really overcome with the turbo diesel engine?
I've been looking at wagon/ute models and all the ones I like are about 10-12k, whereas I could get a 4.2 petrol shortie for 7.5k and with the extra cash, couldn't I turbo & straight gas?

If I was to get the 4.2 Petrol SWB and get straight gas and turbo how would the two compare? and how hard would it be to straight gas & turbo?

    Cheers in advance - Oliver

Cheers man, yeah I've got a turbo diesel navara currently, but am not willing to spend ridiculous amounts of money to make it decent offroad. So you reckon, 4.2 turbo diesel? best condition chassis/body/engine I can find? cheers
