    '08 Patrol dz30ddti y61 Fuel Pump Leak

    Yo Guys.

As the title says leaking fuel pump on my 08 patrol.
I just want to know if anyone has done a replacement job on one of these, or cracked it and put it in the hands of a mechanic?

I have the service manual and can see that there is the O-Ring that seals the pump. I think from what I can gather that the o-ring goes bad and just needs replacing or does the whole pump need replacing?

I like doing all the work that i can myself rather then the mech, but maybe this is a case where I have to rely on a mech.

If anyone has done, or had it done by a mechanic before, would really appreciate to know how much it costs?

20130928_135722.jpgoh yeah, and I started taking things apart yesterday, and crushed the injector fuels hose, that comes from the fuel rail and joins up to the injectors.. It likes a heshen material on the outside and its plastic inside it and has like a plastic jet attached to it.
Do you know where I can get a new one from, of do i have to buy the whole new loom?

    thanks
    jimmy

    G'day Jimmy,
can't help with the problem but it might be useful to someone else to know where you are. Logically a Nissan dealer can get parts but in out in the sticks, dealers, after market suppliers and wreckers are few and far between.
Put some details under your profile if you get the time and the rest of us will get to know you a bit.
    Good luck,
    Col

im from pakenham in Vic, Theres two places i know of, patroladoctor and patrolapart. I wish i couls just go down to jolly rogers in dandenong and rip parts of a patrol, but no! there is NEVER any there. and when you go to purchase parts from those two companies its like you are paying for second hand parts at brand new prices lol.

Yeah patrolapart or docta are the ones I would be ringing mate.

I'm using my phone and can't give you a link but there's a couple of good threads on here about the fuel pump issue. Do you know where where its leaking from?

If its the top ring then not a hard job at all.

hey AB , thanks for the reply, ummm. to paint a picture cos im not really that mechanically minded.
when I stick my head under the car and look up at the pump. its leaking from the seal just above the bottom bolt.
The whole top of the pump is bone dry.
and as soon as I start her up, it just pisses diesel on the ground.
