80ltr waeco magnetic latch
ok so last trip i broke yet another $18 plastic latch for a waeco!ffs.
so this will be my last, I’ve bought some magnets from Bunning’s for like $6 ea and they have 8kg of pulling strength each
Made a little base for it to cling to out of 25mm angle and put 3 holes in it to line up with the existing mounting holes, coat of paint on magnet and on the base to keep rust at bay
works a treat and the missus has a little trouble to open it when it’s at chest high but it’s easy on the floor.
I’m certainly happy with it and may even add one more latch, not sure where yet but ill work it out. they don’t latch on once you drop it but all you have to do is push down to compress the rubber seal and your off!
