radio reception
Got a brand new Patrol 12 months ago, I had the old one since 1996, but it was getting a bit unreliable.
I cant believe things like plastic bumpers on a 4 wheel drive, but I guess thats the way of the world.
Real PO though is the SH radio reception, no range and even intermittent problems in downtown Freo.
Actually the real PO was Nissan Australias response when I rang them.
"We have not been inundated with radio problems " Says the lady, and then proceeds to tell me that "different radios in different cars have different receptivity" In other words I dont have a problem when I am telling her that I do!
Anyone else have receptivity problems with current Patrols?

yeah a few here suffer from poor reception ,
Maybe a UHF/FM antenna will help or an inline amplifier for antenna

Hi rrenton,
Same issue here, crap reception.
Been back to NISSAN twice with no luck, first they tried to blame the tinting said it was issue as the aerial is in the window. Told them it was crap before I had it tinted, they said they would check if anyone else was having issues.
Next service they told me it was the same with all the new models and there was nothing they could do. Obvisouly they didn't pass this on to NISSAN if they haven't been 'inundated with radio problems'.
Cheers

Was it powered? You'd think it would be the same as a tv antenna booster, and they work.
My old commy had far far superior reception than my GQ

Yeah it was powered, nothing like a masthead amp though.

My radio reception is crap! It gets even worse if I plug in a phone or similar to charge in the 12v socket. I've not raised it with Nissan but might well do at the next service.

I replaced an old broken spring loaded aerial that the previous owner had on the Patrol with the factory up and down aerial. Can`t get an AM station any more. The front speakers only work when they want too and all Nissan can say is there is some thing wrong with the radio, but our electronic gadget can`t say what it is.
