    tb42 cam timing

    hi guys im new to the forum so not sure where to post. im doing a rebuild on a tb42 not sure on the cam timing alignment marks some pics would b good or a diagram thanks

    I am doing the same thing, rebuilding myself in Ecuador, since the mechanics here suck, and they always rip off the Gringos (me). There are no marks on my GQ tb40 block to line up the mark that is on the cam gear. I have it tdc with the piston on the compression stroke. The mark on the cam gear is close to 3:00, but there is NOTHING to match it up to on the block. I hope she starts up and runs....... I have looked everywhere for a picture, and the repair manual is of no use.

    First I assume typo above for tb40 instead of should read tb42.


    Then Yes mate 3 o'clock is how it's done.
    You will find no alignment marks for it , your correct and not doing it wrong.
