What do you sleep in/on when camping?

Hi, I went to Stradbroke island on the weekend with a mate and had a great time the only problem is that the bloody air mattress keeps going down so I end up on the floor and the wife has a great sleep as I push the little bit of air left on to her side. So what do people use? We have a tent and our two dogs sleep in the tent with us so do you use stretchers, or should we ditch the tent for swags. Not a fan of roof top tents as you have to take your house with you when go anywhere. Any suggestions?

We now use an MDC camper trailer (well, after I pick it up in three weeks time!) but before that my wife and I slept on an air mattress with an eggshell foam overlay that lay over everything in the trailer before tying it all down. Very comfortable night sleep. Kids now sleep on the Oztrail King single stretchers. Best thing we ever bought them.

Not sure if you could fit something like that in the back of your wagon though.

Looks like your up for a new air mattress mate.

    Cheers,

    Rob

WARNING!: Do not ever use a towball as a recovery point. They are not rated and can become a deadly projectile during a recovery if they snap off, and they have done so with tragic results in the past.

We got the Offroad Delux V3 with the MD05 tent with the kids room next to the draw bar. Been looking at MDC for three years on and off now were great to deal with and finance was really simple and quick too.

Air mattress's suck the chill out of the ground would never sleep on one,
plus they leak all the time just a PITA, which you don't need when you're away trying to enjoy yourself.
Self inflating are the go, but a bit bulky

On the ground self inflating mattresses are the go, we never put the bungs in. We forgot one night and didn't notice any difference.
But the roof topper is fantastic, up in 1min 5 sec and down in 1min 45sec the best camping gadget I have ever bought, warm as toast in the cold and plenty of air flow when its hot.
